Mentors are Potentiators

Imagine the potential in one kernel of corn or the potential in one child.

All children possess unlimited potential. A Mentor needs to focus on the unlimited possibility of their Mentoree. A child in the womb may one day become the President of the United States. No one has the right to limit the potential of another human being.

The difference in those children who graduate from high school and go on to college or successful careers is initiative. The job of a Mentor is to help their Mentoree understand that initiative unlocks the growth of potential. When you help somebody reach their potential; you become their potentiator.

An educator is not someone who provides an education. An educator is someone who guides a student into a learning process. It is the student with initiative that gains an education. As a potentiator, you cannot provide potential. You are the guide whose most important task may be the teaching of initiative.

Thanks for your time.
Go do something nice for somebody.

Mentor Force is an organization of Potentiators. Our goal is to ensure that every student has the benefit of being guided by a Mentor. If we can help you reach your potential as a Mentoring organization please contact us: 716-830-8240 ywapbuffalo@yahoo.com.
